As many of you have noticed, AJPS is closed for the holiday season. This does not mean that the journal is shut down as we will still be accepting reviews and making decisions. However, it does mean that no new manuscripts will be accepted. AJPS will re-open on January 2, 2014 under the direction of a new Editor.
Switching between editors is seemingly traumatic for authors. However, this should not be the case. Bill Jacoby and I have worked out on how to handle the transition. I will remain responsible for manuscripts that came in under my watch. Decisions that are made after January 1 will be in Bill’s name, but I will be making recommendations and writing up the decision for anything that I have handled. This should allow for a seamless transition and allow Bill to hit the ground running.
There is a backlog of accepted manuscripts. The January and April 2014 issues are already filled (and those articles are available in Early View). It is likely that Bill’s first issue will be in October 2014.
